Sweet Hello Sign

We are working on spicing up our boy's room and I think this sign would make a lovely addition. We've just bought a great painting of a rooster & chicken from Harrington's Galleries and a new comforter from IKEA. I still want to paint a stripe over the stencils and hang up some paper pom-pom things that my pal Vida kindly gave us. Progress is slow, but we'll get there :) The plan is for lots of reds, turquoises, and whites. I'll post photos soon, but you can click here is the "before" photo.

We'll hang the painting we bought, and a bunch of fabric-covered cardboard letters on the wall! He already knows A and Q and we're excited for him to learn the other 24 letters! In addition to the painting and the letters, I'd love to get this sign, from William Dohman's Etsy shop! As long as it's not too heavy to hang on the wall (we have to think about earthquakes out here, folks!), this sign would be a perfect addition to our son's room.

A Dream Studio

I've always been super intrigued by this photo that has been in one of my "inspiration" folders for a few years. I can't remember where I first saw the image (probably Design*Sponge or Apartment Therapy). I don't have to wonder about what goes on inside that sweet backyard studio anymore! I just saw this article in The New York Times! It's the studio of ceramicist Lisa Neimeth and I was delighted to find that she's based in San Francisco... what a small world. Here are a few more photos of her studio and her ceramics!

Friday Finds: Royal Buffet

I spent part of my night looking for awesome things on the internet (and watching Project Runway). I was stopped in my tracks when I found the sweet, sweet work of Mollie Greene and her Royal Buffet Etsy Shop (I saw the mobiles on oh, hello friend). She makes beautiful mobiles, wreaths, puppets, and more out of recycled paper (including books and French magazines). Everything is really just delightful!! Here are a few photos from her shop…

Animal Head Vintage Umbrella

One day I'll splurge on a perfect, pretty umbrella. This one is so sweet, but I just can't stomach paying a lot for an umbrella. Maybe if it attached to the baby stroller and covered us both! Go get it, before someone else beats you to the punch. Animal Head Vintage describes it as "Argh. The cutest umbrella you will ever own" and "The unique pagoda shape is pretty much to die for."

UPDATE: My pal & web client, Kerri Silvestri, of Allow Me Events, bought this umbrella for me as a surprise thank you gift!! Pretty much the best gift ever!!
