More Lego Art

After my son made his print for Father's Day, I was inspired to make a print, too. I used the fence with white and then did a handful of yellow accents. Simple & easy, it took less than 10 minutes.

Happy Father's Day

My son & husband both LOVE LEGOS. When I saw this project on Pinterest, I knew we could create something similar and fun in about 20 minutes. I had the boy round up some legos while I got the paper and watercolors. Easy setup and there was a big pool that made clean up fun! Everything got tossed into the pool, including the paint. Then there was a "digging for gold" (digging for Legos) party later. Everything was pretty awesome. It was so neat to see what shape each of the Lego pieces made on the paper. The double horseshoe/U is from the Lego people feet. And the bottom of palm tree created a nice circle.

And just in case handmade lego stamp artwork wasn't enough, we gave Chris an Oaklandish shirt- the one with the cranes that inspired the AT-AT Walkers from Star Wars. We love you, Daddy!

What did y'all do for Father's Day?

Iron Craft: Week 3

I'm not going to lie... I already had this Iron Craft challenge done. But I love it! And it's easy enough for anyone to do!! And there's no sewing involved- awesome for a very novice sew-er like me. I made it last year for my son's birthday party and put his name on the front. We still have it up in his playroom and it rules :)

Here's how I made it:

Step 1: cut paper into triangles. Step 2: Punch holes at top (I used a 2-hole punch). Step 3: Thread ribbon through holes (I used 5/8 double face satin ribbon from Midori because that's what I had on hand). Step 4: (Optional) write name/message on the triangles... happy birthday, etc. Step 5: Display in all it's pretty glory! I put a small nail in the window frame and tied the ribbon around it in a knot.

A few photos for you.
