My favorite children's author is Dallas Clayton. He writes inspiring & unique books and has an amazing outlook on life. I seriously love the new commercial that Google Chrome made. And yes, I cried... within the first 8 seconds.
Bug Party
Last weekend we went to our pals' birthday party in Golden Gate Park. It was a double party for our friends' 4 & 2 year old kids. It was so fun with bouncy castles, yummy food from Bi-Rite, and homemade cupcakes with butterflies on top! Here are a few pictures from the party! And they sent us home with the cutest Kiwi Crate boxes (we made wings!!)
Art Week at Pre-School
Last week's art week must have inspired our artsy Father's Day prints (son's art and my art).
My son is going to three weeks of morning summer camp school. He'll continue with this school in the fall, but the weeks probably won't be themed. Last week was Art Week. Here are a few quick pics of the Art Show they held on Friday.
Is/Are your kid(s) going to summer camp this summer? Did you go when you were young? I think my favorite camp when I was young was a day camp in Miami (where we were living for the summer with our Dad). It was tennis in the morning and sailing in the afternoon.
Next week: SCIENCE WEEK ;)
Happy Father's Day
My son & husband both LOVE LEGOS. When I saw this project on Pinterest, I knew we could create something similar and fun in about 20 minutes. I had the boy round up some legos while I got the paper and watercolors. Easy setup and there was a big pool that made clean up fun! Everything got tossed into the pool, including the paint. Then there was a "digging for gold" (digging for Legos) party later. Everything was pretty awesome. It was so neat to see what shape each of the Lego pieces made on the paper. The double horseshoe/U is from the Lego people feet. And the bottom of palm tree created a nice circle.
And just in case handmade lego stamp artwork wasn't enough, we gave Chris an Oaklandish shirt- the one with the cranes that inspired the AT-AT Walkers from Star Wars. We love you, Daddy!
What did y'all do for Father's Day?
