Arrow in Athens

I had the great fortune to visit ARROW (Athens Rumpus Room Or Workspace), a new place for kids to play and learn in Athens, Georgia (it's next to Big City Café). The workspace part of the name is for the grown-ups; ARROW will also serve as an outlet for parents in the community to meet, craft, or work (they hope to have various workshops and classes). It was started by a seriously amazing duo, Amanda Kapousouz and Rinne Allen. Arrow is geared toward early childhood education and so much fun! It is Waldorf-inspired and has activities like Morning Garden and Music days. I was there on Music Day! Amanda played Irish fiddle for the kids while they danced and played with the other instruments.

They're currently only open to members, but hope to open up to the public soon! Here are a few photos from my visit. The full set can be seen HERE.

Family Photos with Melissa Pepin

We just got back from a wonderful trip to Athens (more posts to follow). While we were there, we had some family photos taken by the amazingly talented Melissa Pepin. We had a great time shooting with her on the porch at Two Story Coffee and then walking around between rainstorms. Our little boy loved walking through the puddles!

She put a handful of photos up on her blog, which you can check out HERE

Thanks, Melissa!!

Save Their Ears

I was happy to see Drew Brees and the Saints win the Super Bowl. I got even more excited when they showed him holding up his 1 year old son sporting noise-cancelling headphones!! We have a pair of these, too; in fact, it was the first present we received after we got pregnant. Chris and many of our friends play a lot of music and we're thrilled that our boy can enjoy music without destroying his ears. We'll let him do that on his own terms when he's a teenager :)
