My friend Iqra is currently working on an awareness campaign with disconnected transitional aged youth aged 16-24 in San Francisco (taysf.org). They are collaborating with Julie Michelle and the CALIBER crew to portray and show the lived experiences of young people who have/are growing up in SF and have been disenfranchised through their experiences with foster care, juvenile justice, teen parenthood, dropping out of High School etc. The outcome of this collaborative project is an art/photo essay exhibit in summer 2010.
TAY-SF is desperately seeking gallery space to put on the exhibit which would include a written stories/poems and photographs. Ideas, suggestions and connections would be greatly appreciated. If you have any ideas, kindly email her directly: iqra@taysf.org
