Makeshift Society

Hooray for great new ideas and making things happen! Three cheers for the Makeshift Society team members who are launching a creative clubhouse in San Francisco this fall. Thanks to Giselle at Rare Device for hosting the meetup last night. It's such a treat to be in a pretty space filled with unique treasures and smiling faces.

Makeshift Society is the new adventure from Rena Tom, Victoria Smith (sfgirlbybay), and Suzanne Shade. It is going to be an amazing work space and will also offer workshops and classes, host socials, and more! There is going to be a library, cozy loft, and rad lockers. Let's do it! I'm so exicted! Are you interested in membership- check out their different levels HERE. Interested in photos- check 'em out below! I had a blast shooting and meeting new lovelies last night. I can't wait to meet more of you! Drop me an email if you're interested in working together!

Are you planning on joining? How do you meet other creatives?

Rena Tom stands tall to present the ideas for Makeshift Society. And I'm here to tell y'all that it's going to be a super rad addition to our creative community!

Thank you, Jordan Ferney (Oh Happy Day!), for suggesting there be cookies at Makeshift!

Flora Lels (Federated Media) and Victoria Smith (sfgirlbybay) listen to ideas from Erin Hiemstra (Apartment 34)

Signing up new members!! Hooray- I'm so exicted to have joined at the Supporting level (if I were still in SF, I'd go bigger!)

Maggie Mason (Mighty Girl) and Flora Lels (Federated Media) show off their hands-on-hip skills.

Stacy Wichelhaus (Hello Cupcake PR) and Lauren Thorp (Umba Box) smile for the camera. Thanks, ladies!

Rue Magazine

Recently I worked with Lauren, at Umba Box, a company that delivers curated handmade surprises to their subscribers. It was a dream shoot and here's the result- a full page in RUE magazine, the hippest online magazine around- woohoo! And major bonus points for being placed next to the Three Babes Bakeshop article. Noa, from Feather Love, did that shoot at the Bay Area Artist Workshop I attended. So having my photo next to hers is like a sweet, virtual hug! Here's a screenshot, but be sure to check out the whole, glorious issue right here.

Art Week at Pre-School

Last week's art week must have inspired our artsy Father's Day prints (son's art and my art).

My son is going to three weeks of morning summer camp school. He'll continue with this school in the fall, but the weeks probably won't be themed. Last week was Art Week. Here are a few quick pics of the Art Show they held on Friday.

Is/Are your kid(s) going to summer camp this summer? Did you go when you were young? I think my favorite camp when I was young was a day camp in Miami (where we were living for the summer with our Dad). It was tennis in the morning and sailing in the afternoon.

Next week: SCIENCE WEEK ;)
