I had the extreme pleasure of shooting Susie & Jae's wedding with photographer Beth Hurley! The day was beautiful and filled to the brim with love and happiness. There was an unplanned part of the ceremony where the pastor (a long-time friend of the bride's family) asked Jae to announce to Susie and their guests, "I am lucky. I am lucky. I am lucky." He asked Susie to say, "I am blessed. I am blessed. I am blessed." They were cute, giggly, blessed, and lucky. And I felt lucky to share their day. Here are a few of my faves from Saturday's festivities from Hakone Estate and Gardens and reception at Plumed Horse Restaurant.
Meet Susan & Ted
I'm so excited to share photos from the engagement shoot I did with Susan & Ted (my GIVEAWAY winners)! The morning we were scheduled to shoot was probably the 8th day of rain in row. It was raining when we met for coffee and we discussed postponing our photo adventure. But our first stop was Swan Oyster Depot, an amazing seafood diner. We decided to see what the weather looked like once we were done at Swan. First of all, let me say that the guys at Swan Oyster Depot are awesome! They're so nice and accommodating and really welcomed us into their restaurant. It's super tiny and is known for it's usual line out the door (always worth it!). We called them early in the week to ask if we could come in Saturday before the crowds. They not only said yes, but were super excited and happy to have us!
The rain miraculously cleared after an hour at Swan, so we headed out to Golden Gate Park and the really amazing Windmill. I hadn't seen it up close, so it was a real treat for me as well.
Here are a few photos from our adventure. I had such a lovely morning with Susan & Ted and can't wait to shoot their wedding in November. They're so cute and in love. There were really sweet moments when Ted had his arms wrapped around Susan and the look in her eyes and smile really conveyed the sense that she knew she was the luckiest gal in all the land. Hope that shows in these photos.
Meet Heather & Chris
I met Heather and Chris last week and they're lovely and so sweet!! We chatted at their place, talked about their upcoming summer wedding, and cuddled with their kitties. I was dying to take some fun photos with their awesome snake, Jehoshaphat (aka Jo), so Chris scooped him up and draped him around his neck. After a few quick pics, we stepped outside and headed straight for the Guerrero Street median. The lighting was perfect and the cars weren't going fast enough to scare me. We had a great time and I can't wait for their wedding! Hurry up, summer!! Here are a few photos worth sharing.
Rue Magazine! West Coast Launch Party
Last night was the super sweet launch party for the new online magazine, Rue! It's full of amazing photos, lovely interiors, shopping, fashion, and more. I love it! And I also love Anne Sage, the co-founder and exec editor. Her blog (the city sage) is seriously one of the most stunning blogs on-the-line. Last night the Kate Spade store in Corte Madera played kind host to the Rue launch party... cupcakes, cocktails, candy, and so many pretty girls. Single dudes- you could do worse than show up at a lifestyle magazine party (or a design blogger's party)!!! Do check out Rue and Anne! But first check out a few shots from last night's West Coast Launch Party!
